It's
quiet at this time of year but as the season kicks off, latest news and updates to the site will be headlined in this column. The link above is a very interesting thread about international selection criteria - well worth a read for any budding international anglers.

SECRETARY’S AUGUST UPDATE
Let me start by a belated congratulations’ to Kitch the Army Champion for 2010. Kitch became a member of the federation in 2008 having been a regular angler at his local water Stock’s. In a competition on Graftham Water 25 – 26 Jun 10 which carried 43 blanks over 2 days and a rod average of .8 of a trout! He put together a commanding lead in day 1 of 7 fish and an overall bag of 14lb 14.5oz, beating Paul L in to 2nd and Neil W into 3rd. His achievement is all the more remarkable as he is stationed in Germany and has no opportunity to train there, a very popular winner and thoroughly deserved.
August has been a good month for our river anglers that saw both Andy C and Graham L taking part in
the national final with Graham coming 5 overall and being selected to compete for England. This is a direct result of our river angler’s continued pursuit for excellence as they quietly have trained in the background for the past seasons, very well done to them all.
The squad for the annual inter-service match 2010 has been published and Andy C has been selected as the Captain. We look forward to getting together and pitting our wits the RAF and RN this year.
Our annual match at BEWL (Please see the Match Admin thread) is planned to be run as our autumn meeting all the detail will be published in our match admin thread. It is hoped that we can field the 3 teams we have entered so I urge those who can to read the thread and get their details to Gaz.
Jacko has a considerable stock of federation clothing at very competitive prices, please PM him for prices and size availability. It is our intention to confirm and publish the dates of our annual matches for the coming season as soon as we can. The only risk to this is when Anglian water confirms their competition programme for the season, which in not usually until well into the New Year.
