The Traffic Light Booby

Pretty much every fly that I have found to be of use to me I have converted into a booby. This is one of my go to patterns if I suspect the fish have seen their fill of orange blobs!

I am using a Kamasan B160 hook and black tying thead 6/0 I prefer the stronger thread when tying boobies.

Secure some thin red holo tinsel and some pearl lurex to the hook, do not use mylar as you will not achieve the same effect.

Bring your tying thread back up towards the eye of the hook.

Wrap the red holo tinsel up the body try try and keep the spacing equal. Secure the end and trim the excess.

Bring the lurex up the hook and secure the end at the head. Trim of the excess.

You can now attach your marabou wing I am using black but a dark brown also works well.

I am going to add jungle cock eyes to give the fly a hot spot, I have them with and without they catch around the same. Trim up any excess you may have.

I turn the fly face on when attaching the eyes and go over the gap five or six times in a figure of eight motion. After whip finishing the thread of I add super glue to secure the whole thing.
The finished article, I hope you have a go at this and catch lots of fish.
