Techno Cat

This is a big favourite of our own Wayne Jones who swears by cats whiskers. A great lure that with the addition of fritz makes it a dead cert fish catcher. You can play about with this pattern by adding strips of luminesant materials such as Flash attack or you can add jungle cock eyes. The variations are limited by your imagination only.

Whip the tying thread onto the hook (Kamasan B175 size 10) in this case. I am using Red thread in size 6 but you can use a variety of colours depending on what colour you wish the head of the fly to be.

 

 

 

 

Pinch some white marabou and whip on as shown.

 

 

 

 

The body is Yellow Fritz and it is attached at the tail end of the fly then using touching turns returned to the eye end of the hook. Leave a good 1/8 th of an inch at the eye to allow room for the wing and head.

Tip: Each time you do a turn use your fingers to sweep the fritz back so that you get a nice plush body.

 

 

Tie in the fritz material at the head. This is a very bulky material to work with so leave yourself plenty of room to tie the wing in.

 

 

 

 

 

Take a small amount of white marabou and tie the wing in. Build the head up so that it covers the marabou and you have a nice even head. Give the head a coat of varnish....Job Done!!
