Hook: Partridge Klinkhåmmer Hook sizes #8 to 20 Thread: Tan Scala.
Wing: White (or Peach) poly yarn
Body: Light tan Fly Rite
Thorax: Peacock Herl
Hackle: Iron Blue Dun Cock. Bend the hook
Pinch and loop the wing on to the hook
Turn wing across hook at 90º
Rotate wing under hook
Gather wing above hook and take thread around wing base and under wing (Figure of 8).
Dub the body, Start and finish by the wing as in the picture
Select several peacock herls, snap off the brittle tips (about ½” or 12 mm) from the tips.
Tie in peacock
Wind peacock as shown and tie off to wing post
Prep hackle and tie in to wing post
Wind hackle around wing
Tie off hackle to wing post and trim out excess hackle
Whip finish around wing post under hackle above thorax

Don’t bend the hook over a sharp edge. These hooks tend to break if you bend them over a hard edge. That’s why I bend them over my thumb nail. Also the point when the point of the hook touches your thumb nail is a great guide to how far to bend the hook. To put head cement on the whip finish leave the bodkin in the loop and put a drop of head cement on the bodkin. How? Well with your other bodkin of course, I said you would need two! Then draw the head cement loaded bodkin out of the loop. Spot on every time.
