The Soldier palmers now boasts several international loch style fly fishermen. We also have a number of our members knocking at the door of the national rivers team.
We fish in group one of the AMFC and also have a second team that fishes in group three.
The team won the prestiges AWFMI in 2007
The team has been invited to fish in the American national and on both visits they gave an excellent account of themselves coming 4th.
WELCOME TO THE ARMY ANGLING FEDERATION (GAME)
SOLDIER PALMERS
The Army Angling Federation Game (AAF (G) represents the Game discipline of the Army Angling Federation. Our Soldier Palmers Teams (SPT) is the name of our competition squad which provides anglers to compete in most Loch Style Competitions in the UK, these include the AMFC Leagues 2 and 3, the Angling Water AIRFLO International (AWFMI), LEXUS and other competitions.
The aims of the AAF (G) are to promote and foster game angling in the Army for serving and ex-serving members and their dependants. To achieve this we have three annual meetings two of which are English, Scottish and Welsh qualifying matches. The standard of our top echelon anglers are a match for any within the UK and Europe and we regularly have SPT members representing the Army competing at the international level.
