Club Information

The Soldier Palmers is the team name for the Army Angling Federation Game (AAF G).

The aims of the AAF (G) are to promote and foster game angling in the Army for serving and ex-serving members and their families; organise events and competitions that will culminate in individual, pairs and team championships; and select army teams to take part in representative matches, national competitions and national leagues.

The criterion for joining the AAF (G) is quite simple - you or a member of your family must be a serving or ex serving member of the army.

There are a great many benefits in joining the AAF (G), some of which are:

a. Improve your skills with organised training days, we have some of the best competition game anglers in Britain;

b. Three inter-army competitions where you will be seeded with top rods, who will help you with flies, lines and tactics;

c. The chance to fish for the army team;

d. The chance to fish for your country, by entering our eliminators;

e. The AAF (G) has six season tickets for Anglian Waters, which are free to our members (yes FREE fishing on Rutland, Grafham and Pitsford);

f. Great tackle discounts of up to 50% with Masterline and Bob Church;

g. A bi-monthly newsletter; and,

h. The chance to take part in many new projects; this year will see 10 Soldier Palmers fish for salmon in Canada.

A year’s subscription is £30, that’s it, just 30 quid. Just think, it costs £17 a day on Rutland, you would only need to go twice and you save money.
